OCI Le Cordon Bleu
1. We originally renovated this building to include culinary institute classrooms and an associated bistro that is open to the public for Western Culinary Institute. We then executed a second renovation when the property was acquired by Oregon Culinary Institute.
2. This 11,000 square foot mixed-use project includes a 60-seat restaurant and bar, a retail charcuterie, commercial kitchens, classrooms, and offices. The restaurant features nearly 50 feet of display kitchen and bar seating. Its long narrow plan offers exciting interaction between chefs and patrons. Local art and indigenous wood complement the food preparation. The rich, saturated color palette is balanced with great quantities of ambient light.
3. The interior design plays a dramatic role in the outside of the appearance of the building, with large-scale murals glowing through glass and aluminum storefront.
4. The teaching kitchen is well-lit and feels generously sized, while also offering students a realistic commercial kitchen experience.
5. The facility includes offices and a computer lab.
