May 2009 - It’s Been A Beautiful Month For SRM’s Marketing Department

This month, we’re pleased to announce that our partner in charge of marketing, Guenevere Millius, was chosen as a winner of one of Portland Business Journal’s 2009 Orchid Awards. The award, given on April 23rd, recognizes women who have made significant accomplishments in business and who offer outstanding service to our community. The winners, explains Craig Wessel, PBJ’s Publisher,“stand out as women of influence, intelligence, and heart.”

Gwen was among five women chosen for recognition in the area of small to medium size businesses. However, she earned this award not only for her business management skills but also because of the many hours she devotes to volunteerism. Through her efforts, SRM donated $100,000 in professional services to local charities last year. Gwen has also been a member of the Portland Design Commission since 2006 and was recently named its Vice-Chair. In 2008, she joined the Willamette River Bridge Advisory Committee, which, she professes, has turned her into a “bridge nerd.” She is an active member of the City Club of Portland, where she was a board member from 2002-2006, named Member of the Year in 2002, and is the founder of the club’s New Leaders Council for young adults.
